October 2011

This October has been full of fun activities! From the Haunted Orchestra at the Clay Center, the Fall Festival at Lakewood, school Halloween parties and of course trick-or-treat! Enjoy a few of the pics from all the festivities!

Snow White!

Snow White (circa 1986!)

That's right, Ella wore the same costume I wore at the same age! My mom made it and after a trip to the dry cleaners it was good as new!

On the road

We took our annual trip to the pumpkin patch on the road this year! Last year, Lindsay told us about a farm in Louisville that would be a great place to bring the girls. We weren't able to make it then, so we made a point to visit this year! Lindsay was right... the girls had a great time picking pumpkins, riding ponies, finding our way through a corn maze (I have to brag that Evie and Mommy won, lol~~not because we made it out first but because we were the only ones to come out of the "proper" exit!), petting the animals on the farm, riding tractors and sliding down the mountain slide! It was an afternoon full of activities!

We got tractor ride to the pumpkin patch

Happy 1st Birthday!

Happy 1st Birthday to our sweet baby girl! This past year seems like a blur and it is so hard to believe that Evie is 1 year old! All of our girls have been good babies, but Evie has been the easiest (which very well could be due to the fact that Matt and I just didn't know what we were doing with the other 2..lol!). She is so happy and is always smiling. She loves her big sisters and loves to be around them. Although, I feel like I sound like a broken record during the day constantly telling them to put her down, it probably bothers me more than it does Evie. She just kind of goes with the flow! Evie is starting to take a few steps and is sure to take off walking in the next week or so! She is a good little eater and is finally starting to fill out and get a little chubby just like her sisters were at this age. God has truly blessed our little family with this sweet, sweet girl! Here are just a few pics from her birthday party!

Yes, this is the dress I made for her birthday!

Yummy!

I can't believe you're letting me eat this!!

Little Monkey

I like to call Evie my "little monkey"! She is quite the climber and loves to explore! Needless to say, I can't hardly take my eyes off of her for a second or this is what happens! :)

I was emptying the dishwasher the other morning and I heard her around the corner. When I peaked my head around this is what I found! (It was pretty funny, so I had to have Ella sit there with her while I ran and got my camera!)

She managed to get trapped under the stool in the kitchen!

It didn't take her long to figure out how to climb the stairs, so we have to keep a baby gate up. Last night she knocked the gate back and was trying to figure out how to get past it!

She is starting to take a couple steps, so I know once she starts walking she is going to be into everything!

Back to Preschool!

Emeri started her preschool class this week and she was so excited to go back!

Projects, Part II

One project that I've been working on, that I didn't mention in the last post, is SEWING! I have been wanting to learn for a long time, so I enlisted the help of my oh so talented seamstress mother! I'm pretty sure that she could make just about anything, so when I found similar collegiate dresses (none of which were WVU of course) on Etsy I asked her if she would teach me how to make them. This was the first time I have ever sat down at the sewing machine and after it was all said and done, I think I'm hooked!

Mom started me from the beginning which was finding the pattern and fabric to cutting out the material and then finally sewing it all together. She helped me quite a bit with Ella's (that was the first one) and then by the time I got to Evie's dress I felt pretty comfortable and did it pretty much on my own! I am very happy with the finished product and I think they are adorable! Go Mountaineers!!

Next, in the works is a dress for Evie's birthday and dresses for Halloween!!
